This week is starting off to be a week to of lots of insurance quotes dealing with home insurance and auto insurance.  I am guessing that because everyone is now working from home as a result of COVID-19 people are now looking for new ways to save on their home and auto insurance.  

We recently helped an individual switch from AAA insurance to Safeco Insurance.  He said his chief complaint was that he did not like their service.  In reviewing his home insurance policy we discovered that his property insurance was about 1/2 of what it should have been written for.  I don’t know the reason for this but we needed to fix this.  After we had finished all of his paperwork up he sent me an email and said:  “Done! That was easy- thanks for all of your help!  Bob”.  I am glad he felt the entire process was easy and was happy with our services.

A few weeks later Bob gave me a call and said I am about to surprise my wife with a classic car. Do you also write classic car insurance?  I told him of course we do.  We are a full service insurance broker and if it is insurance we do it.  I told him that once he and his wife turn 65 we can also help you with your Medicare Insurance needs. 

Safeco offers several new products one of which is called Service Line Coverage. If you have an older home like I do as my family lives in Long Beach, CA this is an important coverage.  Safeco is willing to pay $12,000 towards the repair of your main sewer line.  I will write more about this coverage in a separate post but this is an amazing coverage not offered by most home insurance carriers.

Another family was with Allstate Insurance co and after we quoted out all of our insurance carriers Mercury insurance provided the lowest quote.  We did make several recommendations for this family as well.  In reviewing their Auto Insurance they had fairly low insurance coverages $25,000 / $50,000 and we recommended they increase their auto liability limits to $100,000 / $300,000.  In addition we made several recommendation to their home insurance program to ensure they were protected better in the event of a loss.  We made all of these changes and were able to provide several hundred dollars in savings which is an added benefit.
